Mobile soda blasting brings the gentlest blast media to the job. Sodium bicarbonate shatters on impact and lifts paint, grease and carbon, but it’s softer than the substrate — so glass, chrome, rubber and gel coat survive untouched.
Classic cars, engine bays, boat hulls and commercial kitchens are exactly the assets you don’t want to transport. We set up beside them and strip in place.
Soda is 100% water soluble and non-toxic, so clean-up is a wash-down and it’s safe around food preparation areas, gardens and waterways.
How soda blasting works →Soda is the choice when the surface underneath matters as much as the coating coming off: original car panels, aluminium heads, fibreglass boats, chrome, timber furniture, sandstone and commercial kitchen equipment.
Because it is food-grade and water soluble, soda is also used where chemicals are not welcome, such as food plants, kitchens, gardens and near waterways.
Soda does not cut deep rust, mill scale or heavy industrial coatings on steel. Those jobs need dustless blasting or sandblasting, and Craig will tell you if your job falls into that group.
Soda also leaves no surface profile. Some paint systems need a suitable primer on smooth bare metal, so check with your painter before the job.
A small patch confirms soda will lift the coating and sets the pressure for that surface.
Food-grade soda strips paint, grease and carbon while leaving glass, chrome and rubber intact.
The surface is rinsed so no soda residue is left under the next coat of paint or sealer.
From the CBD to the Central Coast, Newcastle, Wollongong and regional NSW — travel is priced into your quote up front.
Yes. We work in driveways and home garages all the time — panels, engine bays, chassis and wheels can all be done in place.
No. Soda is softer than glass and chrome, so it removes the coating without pitting or etching. We still mask anything you want left exactly as is.
Yes. It’s food-grade baking soda — no chemical residue, and it rinses away with water.
Yes. The surface is rinsed to remove soda residue before any primer or paint goes on.
Only light surface rust. For heavy rust, dustless blasting or sandblasting is faster and more effective.
