Mobile sandblasting is for the jobs soda can’t shift: heavy corrosion, mill scale and thick industrial coatings on robust steel. We bring the harder media to the machine, so earthmovers, trailers and structural steel never leave site.
Moving an excavator or a steel frame to a blast yard means a float, a crane and lost working days. Blasting in place keeps the asset where it works.
Every job starts with an assessment. Where a softer method will protect the asset better, we’ll recommend it — sandblasting is used where it’s the right tool.
How sandblasting works →Mobile sandblasting is used on hard, robust steel where a softer media would take too long: earthmoving buckets and frames, trailers and truck chassis, steel beams and gates, and tanks with heavy scale.
It leaves an angular profile on the metal, which industrial primers and paint systems need to grip. That makes it the usual preparation before a protective coating on structural steel.
On an open rural site or inside a contained area, dry sandblasting is fastest. Near homes, roads or working staff, the same grit is used with water as dustless blasting to keep the dust down.
Either way, the media is silica-free. Australian work health and safety rules restrict blasting with media containing more than 1% crystalline silica.
Coating thickness, rust depth and what is attached are checked before choosing grit and pressure.
Glass, hydraulics and anything staying are masked, and screens go up around the work zone.
Hard, silica-free grit removes rust and scale and leaves a profile for the new coating.

No. We use modern, safer abrasive media in place of silica sand. “Sandblasting” is the common name for the process.
Yes. The rig is self-contained, so remote sites without power are fine.
Yes — sandblasting leaves clean, profiled metal that new coatings key into. Prime soon after to prevent flash rust.
It depends on its size, the coating and how much rust there is. Send photos for a time estimate and a fixed quote.
Near homes, the work is usually done wet as dustless blasting so dust does not drift.
